What All Does Turn Around Bikes Do?

Turn Around Bikes is a jack of trades.  What don't we do that is bike related?

  • Providing a safe place for teenagers to learn bike repair, socialize with peers, and be mentored by adults
  • Providing free, reliable transportation to the local low income population
  • Supporting local and regional bicycle advocacy and education programs by volunteering, reposting, and showing up to events
  • We run a bike shop that sells and repairs new and old bicycles.

Providing a Safe Place for Teens:  As a program of a youth organization, our first and foremost responsibility is to support the local teen population.  Turn Around Bikes hosts a twice weekly workshop for teens age 11 - 18 years old, and although people over 18 years old are welcome they must agree to passing a background check.  The workshops are designed to teach job skills, mechanical skills, and to work on the bicycles that are to be donated.  For more information, please visit  "Volunteer with Turn Around Bikes"

Providing Free, Reliable Transportation:  Also known as, a bicycle.  Currently, we have four requirements in order for someone to receive a free bicycle: the person must be referred by a case manager, must be low income, must have no other option for transportation, and all paperwork needs to be submitted. Each applicant is then put on a waitlist that is on a "first-come-first-serve" basis; we do not have bicycles ready on a daily basis so we do not accept walk ins. If you are a case manager looking to source a bicycle for a client, please visit "Our Partners" page to see if your agency is listed and speak with a coworker about the program.  If your agency is not listed, please email Megan Packard to set up an appointment to discuss the process.

Supporting Local and Regional Bike Efforts:  Turn Around Bikes is primarily focused on the above mentioned activities; however, we do have our hand in bicycle advocacy and education.  We support the local efforts of the Bicycle Advocacy Group, focused on improving bicyclng safety and hosting bicycle events in the Greeley area and Weld County (more information on GreeleyBikes.com). Additionally, we support regional efforts of the Bicycle Ambassador Program and FCBikes out of Fort Collins (more information on FCgov.com/bicycling).  Finally, we support the Safe Routes to School program in Weld County by offering fleet maintenance and support staff for events (SafeRoutesToSchoolWeld.com)

Bike Shop:  Turn Around Bikes is a fully functioning bike shop for all your bicycle needs.  We sell new and used bicycles.  We sell new and used bicycle parts.  We have work stations to rent to work on your own bike.  During the winter months we are open Monday's and Thursday's 6-7pm and by appointment.
